About the artist
I’m Rosey D'Angelo, a Los Angeles-based artist exploring the psychological and mystical dimensions of the human experience. With a background in psychology, studio art, and art therapy—and over a decade working in video game development—I bring a layered and unconventional perspective to my work.
Originally from New York City and the third of nine siblings—think Wu-Tang Clan meets the Fellowship of the Ring—I grew up immersed in a chaotic, collaborative energy that still fuels my creative process. My practice blends realism with the esoteric, drawing inspiration from a wide spectrum of sources, from MF DOOM to the Tarot. I primarily work in oil and mixed media on canvas, often incorporating classical techniques like gold leafing.
My work dives into the symbolic and archetypal currents beneath everyday imagery, weaving mythological themes into contemporary contexts. I'm fascinated by the tension between the ancient and the modern—how timeless symbols continue to shape our inner worlds. Through each piece, I aim to spark a dialogue about those deeper, often unseen forces that connect us all.
